I love being an entrepreneur. And one of my favorite things is to buy from other women entrepreneurs. Yesterday I had the privilege of buying from a beautiful woman who is just starting her wholesale business. She was NERVOUS taking our order. Her website still wasn't ready. She was learning Shopify (which is no easy task). I could tell market wasn't going as well as she had hoped. But, per usual of Jake and I ... we talked. Got to meet her mom and dad. (They were proud of her, but said she was spoiled with a shy grin.) Her dad is a retired pastor. Found out she is the baby of the family with three older brothers who played D1 College Football and there is 8 years difference between her youngest brother and her. Said she hates bringing anyone home because her brothers are the WORST. Especially the oldest one ... as she said, "I keep telling him he isn't my DADDY." We placed our order. And at the end, she got up and just HUGGED me. Like a real hug. (That's not normal. I'm a hugger, but I don't get hugs from my vendors, LOL.) I told her she was doing an awesome and we were excited to have her in our Boutique. And she had a tear in her eye when we left. It reminded me that sometimes the smallest of actions is what someone else needs to keep going and keep their dream alive. Can't wait to show you her BRIDGE pieces in the upcoming shows.
